About

I started my doll collecting hobby in 2002. Over the years, the focus of my collection has evolved through many different phases. At first, I was infatuated with vintage dolls. Eventually, I developed an obsession for Robert Tonner dolls, especially Tonner's American Models. Madame Alexander's Cissy dolls also captured my interest.

Throughout my collecting, I have always enjoyed acquiring broken dolls or those with messy hair and restoring them to the best condition possible. I learned to give "dolly perms", fix mechanical parts such as Ideal Kissy's kisser, restring dolls to tighten loose limbs, and clean dirty vinyl.

Fixing up a broken, over-loved doll is more fun for me than buying an expensive doll and keeping her in a box on the shelf. My current passion is finding dolls in thrift stores, putting them on "Project Status", and working on their issues as time allows. It is a very relaxing hobby. Sometimes I sit down after a long day and carefully comb out a gnarly, knotted mess of a project doll's hair. Ahh . . . so rewarding!

In this blog, I post photos and commentary on dolls I have owned in the past as well as those that are currently in my collection. I enjoy gathering up and posting photos of dolls that no longer live in my collection because it provides a bit of nostalgia for me and perhaps some information or enjoyment for my blog visitors.

My taste in dolls is eclectic and ever-changing, You never know what you will find here!
